Well it’s certainly been a minute for this one hasn’t
it? It’s been well over a year since the
end of Season Two of Gunpla Builder Thursday but that hasn’t meant I’ve stopped
building Gunpla. Far from it, I’m well
up to…let me check…160 models, mostly High Grades with a few Master Grades here
and there. Considering I’m doing a big
summer event around Mecha, makes sense to bring back Gunpla Builder Thursday
once again and this time, we’re doing things a little differently. There’s not gonna be any in depth analysis of
builds. Instead you’re gonna get a
random assortment of up to four models a week, with little blurbs about who
they are and maybe a teeny bit of history depending on how well I know the
Gunpla in question. So, without further
ado, Season Three of Gunpla Builder Thursday begins with our first Randomizer
episode.
The final incarnation of the Gundam AGE project begun by Flit Asuno as a child, the AGE-FX is one of the most powerful Gundams in the Advanced Generation. Tuned to Kio Asuno’s personal specifications, the suit sports an array of advanced weaponry, including several mobile Funnels, and enhanced sensors which allow Kio to more than match any X Rounder he encounters.
One of the three original models developed for Project V, the Guncannon’s name speaks for itself, featuring two shoulder mounted cannons. Before being mass produced, the Guncannon was part of the White Bases formidable Mobile Suit team alongside the Gundam and Guntank.
Originally intended to be a new model Gundam, the Hyaku-Shiki was scaled back but still remained a formidable suit nonetheless. During it’s tenure, the Hyaku Shiki fought in two back to back conflicts: first piloted by Char Aznable during the Gryps War and later by Beecha Oleg during the First Neo Zeon War.
Towards the end of the war with the Zanscare Empire, the League Millitaire outfitted the Victory 2 Gundam with a large assortment of armaments for the final battle to come. While its speed dropped significantly, the overall offensive power of the heavily armed Victory 2 still played a vital role in the fall of Angel Halo and the Zanscare Empire.
