Last week we got our first look at the long awaited spin
off of the John Wick franchise, Ballerina.
I’ve been excited for this one for a while for a couple of reasons. First, the John Wick movies are freaking
awesome, with plenty of room for stories beyond our titular hitman. The second is Ana de Armis. If you haven’t seen her in movies like Blade
Runner 2049 or Knives Out, you should cause she’s a fantastic actress. More importantly to todays topic, in her
criminally underutilized role in the James Bond film No Time to Die, Ana’s
Paloma kicks a tremendous amount of ass in a sequence that is probably the
reasons she landed the role of titular Ballerina Eve Maccaro. Personally it’s also kind of obvious but she
is as gorgeous as she is a talented actress.
Got me thinking about Anime femme fatales who have a penchant for taking
on deadly jobs with the odds stacked against them and making good use of their
arsenal of weapons and to die for good looks.
And today we’re giving these ladies a shoutout on Top 5 Wednesday with
the Top 5 Sexiest Assassin’s in Anime.
Don’t let this little lady in a miniskirt fool you.
Akame is one of the core members of a League
of
Assassins and there’s a reason the
show is named after her.
Her ice cold
demeanor and those blood ruby red eyes make her intentions very clear: if she draws
her sword, you’re likely to not be standing once she sheathes it.
Akame is the kind of girl who can slice and
dice with the best of them and not just on the battlefield as she serves as the
cook for her Assassin group Night Raid as well.
Something tells me should could very well poison your meal if she doesn’t
want to get her hands too dirty.
#4-Lady Nagant (My Hero Academia)
Nagant is one of the many casualties of a flawed system
in the My Hero universe.
Once she was an
idealistic and excited Pro Hero.
However,
due to her special weapon based capabilities, she began doing wet work and
black ops jobs for the government, eventually sending her down a dark path
towards becoming a villain.
While I’m
not full caught up on Season 7, Season 6 saw Nagant set loose on Deku when he
goes rogue.
Nagant’s a beauty who
commands your attention so much you wont even freak out when her arm goes a
little Cronenberg to unveil the rifle that is her Quirk hidden underneath.
#3-Mirielle Bouqet (Noir)
Mirielle arguably has among the easiest of times getting
to one of her marks.
All she needs to do
is show up in that pitch perfect outfit consisting of a burgundy turtleneck, ankle
boots and miniskirt that shows off flawless legs and they’re at her mercy.
The lady is a wiz with a handgun, rarely
missing anyone she takes aim at.
It
helps that Mirielle has been brought up to be an Assassin following the death
of her parents.
It’s made her hardened
and a bit jaded but trust me, you’d be a lot safer at her side than in her
sights.
#2-Roberta (Black Lagoon)
Roberta is one of the biggest forces of nature in all of
Black Lagoon.
She’s actually less Hit Woman
and more a female Terminator done right.
Armed to the teeth (literally and figuratively), this seemingly harmless
looking Maid will decimate all while simply taking a stroll down the street.
Roberta is also sharply focused on her
singular task, be it assassination or protection or both.
And once she gets going, God help anyone who
gets in her way cause chances are the town or city she visits wont be standing
by morning.
#1-Yor Briar (Spy X Family)
It was kind of hard choosing between Yor and
Roberta.
Roberta is a classic fav but
Yor is still living rent free in my head both as a sexy housewife and the even
sexier Thorn Princess.
While she might
be a bit of a ditz with major social issues, Yor’s penchant for bloody violence
is infamous.
Not to mention her Duel Stilleto
blades aren’t even her most dangerous weapon.
If there was ever a candidate for Sexiest Legs in Anime, Yors a strong contender
since they are superhumanly strong, capable of sending opponents to the other
side of town or stopping a freaking car in its tracks…maybe she’s more
Terminator than Roberta.
Whatever the case,
Yor is one of the most beautiful characters ever crafted and has the deadly
skills to match her almost unrivaled good looks.
