The Gundam Anime Corner 11th Anniversary

11 freaking years, yikes.  Honestly there’s been so much going on that even though I knew this was coming, it still crept up on me.  But this is still my baby and it is still March 31st, which means today is the Gundam Anime Corner’s 11th Birthday.  How far we’ve come with this little venture about reviewing Anime titles and just shooting the breeze.  From Eden of the East to FLCL.  From Macross Plus to Golden Boy.  From Psycho Pass to Slayers.  And, of course, basically the bulk of the Mobile Suit Gundam universe available at the moment, with Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX well on the way.  I just have to say, from the bottom of my heart, whether you’ve been reading this from the beginning or just pop in out of curiosity every once in a while, Thanks for help keeping the Gundam Anime Corner going.  And even if the readership is next to nil, this is something I love to do and have no intention of stopping.  As a matter of fact, we’ve got some big things to look forward to heading into Year 12 starting tomorrow.  Let’s see how we’re ringing in the New Year…of the Gundam Anime Corner.

Adventures in Isekai
Tomorrow marks the return of our favorite gang of Isekai screw ups and they’re taking their adventures to new heights with KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! 3.  Next up, we’ve got a little bit of a Reverse Isekai…kind of?  If youre reincarnated across time periods do those count as “in another world”?  Whatever the case, the legendary Chinese Tactician Kongming arrives in present day Tokyo and is about to learn how to drop some fresh beats with Ya Boy Kongming.

Mega Mecha Summer
This has gone through a ton of scheduling changes trying to make this work.  But one day I realized I want to look at a ton of Mecha series throughout 2025.  Most of them are from the newly available Macross show streaming in the US for the first time.  Well, this summer, Mecha reigns supreme.  From Mid May to the end of September, we’re jumping into MEGA MECHA SUMMER!!!  Giant Robots.  Giant transforming Robots.  Police Robots.  Giant Robot Battleships. You name it, it’s here…or to be more precise: Gunbuster; Code Geass: Roze of the Rebellion; Megazone 23 Part I; Megazone 23 Part II; Megazone 23 Part III; Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Flashback 2012; Macross 7 (which is our yearly Extended Summer Series Review in July); Macross Frontier; and lastly, Patlabor: The Mobile Police.  Huh, think I should probably not do more Mecha til 2026.

The Moon Princess Returns…at some point
Since 2022, Sailor Moon has had a regular presence here at the Anime Corner.  I’ve look at both the 90’s Series and the Sailor Moon Crystal iterations as well as all of the movies.  What more could I have to look at then?  Welllll there’s always the Manga.  Yep, I managed to get my hands on the whole of the original Manga that started it all.  And truth, this little project idea has been brewing in the back of my head since maybe midway through my looking at the 90s series.  The plan is to do another Anime to Manga Comparison special like I’ve done in the past for Mobile Suit Gundam Wing and Neon Genesis Evangelion.  And I’m calling it To the Moon and Back (could change we’ll see).  Slight hiccup is which series to focus on…so I might end up doing both though I’ll try to use Sailor Moon Crystal as my basis since it adheres closer to the Manga.  Also, I don’t know when I’m planning to post this cause of free time and the such.  More than likely I might split this into two halves, looking at the first five volumes in June or July and saving the remaining five for December.  Bear with me though cause this is happening.

Whew, that’s a lot for the bulk of 2025 and that doesn’t even include all new First Impression Fridays coming this Summer leading to the 250th episode.  In the here and now, be sure to check out my Special  Anniversary Review of The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim as we celebrate the 11th Birthday of the Gundam Anime Corner.  Welcome and Enjoy.
