Man oh man let me tell you: Scheduling for 2026 is
proving to be the most challenging since I started this blog back in 2014. I’ve got a bunch of titles I’d like to look
at and some are at the mercy of waiting for a US release date. There’s been a lot of shuffling around but I
think I’ve got things locked in from March to July/Mid August. Why bring this up? Because March, the month of the Gundam Anime
Corner’s Birthday, has been a whirlwind of ideas that I haven’t been able to
settle on. Plus, there’s that
aforementioned unrevealed US Release Date.
Yeah I was really hoping that after it’s release in Japan back in
January, Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe would
see a quick turn around on it’s arrival stateside. Sadly, no such date has been announced, which
means it’s not going to be this years 12th Anniversary Review. Don’t get me wrong, once it does arrive I’ll
pencil it in somewhere before the end of the year. But what does this all mean for March?
Simply put, some ideas are being held off for later in
the years like Lazarus. I think I
originally announced Gasaraki for review in March but that’s been
postponed til an undetermined date.
Sounds like I’ve got nothing. On
the contrary, I have plenty, like a slew of stand alone movie reviews that I
haven’t found a home for on the schedule…until now. This March will be a grab bag of cyberpunk
and scifi films and OVAs from anthologies like Robot Carnival and Neo
Tokyo to more famous action fare like Roujin-Z and Battle Angel. As for what title is taking the coveted
Special Anniversary Review Slot, well I stumbled across footage from an Anime
I’ve never even heard of before and has seldom been spoken of in the legendary
catalogue of the studio behind it. I’ll
keep the title a surprise but suffice to say, I’m pumped to take a look at
it.
Buuuuut if Gundam Hathaway 2 does surface sometime
in March then we might be seeing some last minute changes but let’s play that
by year eh? Is anything else coming in March? Who’s to say but more plans might be revealed
when we get to the Blog’s 12th Anniversary on March 31, 2026. Til then, keep an eye out and see ya Monday
for Roujin-Z, right here a the Gundam Anime Corner.
