Well despite some abnormally hot days and Summer refusing
to leave…Fall is officially here. It’s
been kind of busy here at the Anime Corner with Slayers Try, K-On and Turn A
Gundam and it’s only going to get busier as it finally gets colder and
comfier (I cant wait for colder weather honestly). Right now, we just wrapped up Ryu, Ken and
Chun Li’s world tour battle with M. Bison in Street Fighter II V. So how about we take a look at whats coming
to the Gundam Anime Corner for the rest of 2019, breaking it down month by
month.
October
Every October I try to do a horror themed Anime series to
capitalize on the month of scares and chills.
This year is no different and we’re bringing back an old friend. The smoothest, too cool for school Vampire
Hunter in Anime is back, Alucard. And
he’s bringing some old friends for the true retelling of Kota Hirano’s classic
Manga: Hellsing Ultimate. Unlike
the 2000’s Hellsing series I reviewed back in 2016, there is no deviation in
the narrative. These are 10 episodes of
pure monster slaying carnage (1 episode per Manga volume I guess). Also October is usually when I wait to do any
Cosplay highlight Top 5 list cause costumes and Halloween. Well ive been to a few conventions this year,
enough to cover the whole month. So get
ready for a special Top 5 Wednesday miniseries dedicated to the cosplay
highlights of Katsucon, Awesomecon, Otakon and Baltimore City Comic Con.
November
Oh my Queen how I have missed thee. The Queen of Gambling and the Demon Empress
of Insanity graces the Anime Corner once more with the long awaited second
season of Kakegurui, Kakegurui XX.
With Kirari Momobami dissolving the Student Council and holding
elections for her coveted seat of power, everyone is coming out of the woodwork
to take over. Is Yumeko one of those
contendors? If so she’ll have to contend
with reps from the Momobami Clan, all with their own deadly agendas. We’ll also be hitting a landmark of the Anime
Corner if ive timed the release schedule correctly, my 100th First
Impression Friday. What title have a
chosen to cover for this celebratory episode?
Like every other FIF, you’ll just have to wait and see. Also, expect a second special Top 5 Wednesday
miniseries coming in November too.
December
Well the Year of the Slayers hit a slight snag. Slayers Next and Slayers Try both
came out on time in January and May respectively, and Slayers: The Motion
Picture was my celebratory title for the Anime Corner’s 5th Birthday. However, I did post that I was planning a
look at the OVA specials (Slayers Special and Slayer Excellent) and
other Movies (Slayers Return, Slayers Great, Slayers Gorgeous and Slayers
Premium) around September…and that ended up not working out, so Street
Fighter II V slotted in to take its place.
I apologize for that and intend to finish 2019: The Year of The Slayers
out with a bang. After several
(unintended) months of waiting, Lina Inverse and company will return for the
final two seasons of Slayers: Slayers Revolution and Slayers
Evolution-R. Both are getting
reviewed back to back since they both are shorter seasons that basically play
out as a two part narrative. I’m also happy
to announce that GundamCember will return for one more round this holiday
season (kicking off with my First Impression of Gundam Build Divers Re: Rise
on December 6) and it’s probably my last one considering ive run through the
first episodes of nearly every Gundam series under the sun.
And that’s that, the gameplan for the conclusion of 2019
and let me also tell you…I cant wait to announce what I’ve got planned for
2020, man am I gonna put myself to the test with the titles I have in
mind. But more on that closer to the end
of the year. See ya around dear
readers…oh and P.S. YES I will get to RWBY Vol.6 before the end of the year.
