#5-FLCL-Ride the
Shooting Star
FLCL is filled with music you just want to blast in your
car during a Sunday afternoon drive.
Just chill out and watch the sites go by. Of course if you watch the live action
footage of Haruko’s bike going AWOL on it’s own sight seeing adventure, you’d
want to do the same thing as well. Not
much more to say, it’s great, next number.
#4-Cyborg
009-Genesis of Next
Anime Techno at it’s best. Genesis of Next’s synth beats echo the
mechanical feel of the series 9 main cybernetic heroes and heroines. But more so that makes it so darn likeable is
the build up. It starts off quietly
announcing itself before the bumps kick in and then builds again to the lyrics,
sung in the most beautiful fashion. The
full length song clocks in at almost 10min long, but it never feels tiring, it
feels epic. Wasn’t a huge 009 fan but
this theme was definitely a highlight of what I saw.
#3-Gundam Build
Fighters-Imagination > Reality
You bet Gundam was going to be on this list
somewhere. And again, I had to choose a
song from Gundam Build Fighters, a testament to how much I really loved the
heck out of this series. This tune is
just flat out fun. Even as the episode
ends, you get pumped up hearing it that you want to jump to the next episode
right away. When I hear it, I think of
running through a montage of Anime Conventions, a place I consider filled with extraordinary
possibilities. Even better, is when you
add in the image of running through that hallway of fantasy with friends. Take your dreams and run with them and share
them if you wish. Am I being too deep
with this?
#2-Yu-Gi-Oh-Ashita
Moshi Kimi ga Kowaretemo
#1-Dragon Ball GT-Sabitsuita
Machine Gun de Ima o Uchi Nukou
It’s funny. When I
first heard this song I thought it was from DBZ somewhere. It’s only recently I learned it was from GT
and as much as im not a fan of that show, I love the theme music, all openings
and endings. Why does this one stand
out, not just in the series but as my favorite ending ever? Well unlike my #2 option, this sounds like more
than just an end or farewell to the journey.
It sounds more like, until next time my friend, the journey never
ends. That alone sums up Dragon Ball
itself as a whole, a never ending adventure.
But if you do have to part ways with allies and friends for now, it’s
also a good reminisce song, to remind you of the good times and bad times…and
how you wouldn’t have it any other way.
