T5W#414-Top 5 Hottest Power Rangers

You’ve gotta give Power Rangers credit for not going the route of just having kicking rubber suited alien ass be just a guys game.  Ever since the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in 1993, each new Ranger team incarnation has given us at least one incredibly gorgeous young woman who is more than capable of holding their own against the forces of evil and looking absolutely stunning in the process.  They’ve been the first crushes of many a first time watcher and most of these lovely bad asses have stood the test of time well after the conclusion of their respective series.  And since it is the middle of summer and I need an excuse to use this terrible pun, let’s turn up the heat on today’s Top 5 Wednesday with another Power Rangers celebratory list for the 30^th Anniversary, this time looking at the Top 5 Hottest Power Rangers.

 
#5-Amelia Jones (Power Rangers Dino Fury & Power Rangers Cosmic Fury)

Amelia became a Ranger sensation overnight following the debut of Dino Fury and it’s hard not to see why. Amelia is not only incredibly pretty but she’s also very plucky, outgoing and she a strong belief in the paranormal, so she’s willing to believe just about anything without question.  Also given that she’s a journalist and secret superheroine, that kind of makes Amelia the Power Rangers equivalent of Kara Danvers aka Supergirl, doesn’t it?  Amelia’s not only a kick ass pink Ranger but she’s also set to be the first full time Red Ranger in Cosmic Fury and I can’t think of anyone better suited for the role.

 
#4-Gia Moran (Power Rangers Megaforce & Power Rangers Super Megaforce)

While Megafore is generally seen as the lowest point in the franchise, one of its few bright spots is Yellow Ranger Gia. The moment she steps onto the scene in her cool outfit you know who the girl in charge is. Gia is just so damn cool and confident that the show doesn’t have nearly as much energy when she isn’t on screen.  Also you’ve got her super cute BFF status with Pink Ranger Emma that had many fans who shipped them wishing that would become a real romantic relationship. Ciara Hanna’s love for the role and her characters popularity have led to her returning several times in guest appearances including an online Power Rangers/Street Fighter crossover that saw her teaming up with Tommy himself.

 
#3-Jen Scotts (Power Rangers Time Force)

Up until Time Force I can’t think of another instance where a girl led a Ranger team. But wow Jen set that bar pretty damn high. Jens a no nonsense Time Force Officer and she’s pretty tough and driven. Granted a lot that has to do with Ransik, the main villain of Time Force, having killed her fiancée in the opening episode.  She does soften up a bit but that doesn’t make her any less deadly in the field and she doesn’t let her anger define her as a leader.  Also Jens civilian wardrobe is some of the best of any female Ranger, as stunning as she is dangerous.
 

#2-Ashley Hammond (Power Rangers Turbo & Power Rangers In Space)

I’m sure I wasn’t the only who was a little miffed when the original ranger team was suddenly swapped out midway through Turbo. But while they took time to warm up too, Ashley had my eye from the get go. She’s so kind and approachable in the cute Girl Next Door kind of way. But Ashley definitely hit next level hotness during In Space thanks to her gained battle experience as a Ranger and her romance with Andross that brought out a very welcome flirty side (and Andross like me fell for her hard).  Like a couple other names on this list, Ashley’s actress Tracy Lynn Cruz remains very active with the Ranger community, often visiting conventions and meeting fans of all ages.
 

#1-Kat Hillard (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo & Power Rangers Turbo)

Ohhhh boy I know I’m gonna get a ton of flack for this but hey let me have my list. Kimberly is a legend, no question she is the OG Pink Ranger. But call me crazy, I was and still am a bigger fan of Kat. There’s just something about her from the accent to her kindness that just makes her click with me in a way Kim didn’t.  Regardless Kat not only has a special place in my heart but she’s also heavily active in the fandom and community. She even rejoined her former teammates for the Once and Always special and is set to appear alongside them in Cosmic Fury…and she still looks as beautiful as the day she first arrived in Angel Grove, if not more so.  Fun Fact: Catherine Sutherland, who plays Kat, is still super close with many of her fellow Ranger sister, including her best friend, Nakia Burrise, who plays Tanya in Zeo and Turbo, and the two run their own Ranger Rewatch Youtube page, Power Rangers Playback, together.
