T5W#519-Top 5 Characters from Suits Perfect for Characters from Gundam Wing

Ok, try and follow me on this one.  Every now and then I revisit Suits on Netflix or Prime.  I’m not a big law drama guy but the writing and acting (and soundtrack) are all damn near perfect and I love coming back to it here and there.  Currently, I’m walking a friend through the show and we’re in an arc where the subjects of Coups and Betrayals are prevalent…which lead to us talking about Gundam Wing and which character from Suits would be this character from Gundam Wing and the light bulb went off in my head for todays Top 5 Wednesday.  Who from high risk, high reward, risk taking Lawyers and Fixers from Suits best exemplifies the qualities and coolness of the bad asses in mecha from Gundam Wing?  That is the question I’m gonna attempt to answer today as I choose the Top 5 Characters from Suits perfect for Characters from Gundam Wing.

#5-Louis Litt as General Septum
Poor early seasons Suits Louis constantly finds himself siding with the wrong people in the worst of situations.  Such choices come with costs that ultimately do lead to him becoming a better man.  Funny enough I can see Louis delivering all of Septums English Dub dialogue with the same kind of presence and camp, which would lead to his most iconic moment in all of Gundam Wing, the one we all know from the promos, aka his hilariously over the top demise at the hands of our next pick.

#4-Jessica Pearson as Lady Une
The Queen of Peason Hardman, Jessica will do almost whatever it takes to maintain her power in the firm and can be pretty cold and cutthroat in the process.  While she doesn’t have a Treize to work under, that doesn’t make Jessica any less of a Lady Une type from her cold, calculating demenour to making any outfit she wear look absolutely stunning.  Also since the Louis/Septum idea came to mind, yes Jessica Une shooting Louis Septum after throwing him off the roof feels like a fantasy she’s had many times.

#3-Katrina Bennet as Dorothy Catalonia
This choice admittedly boils down to the drop dead gorgeous looks of actress Amanda Schull and her line deliveries as Katrina.  Smoldering eyes, flawless hair and fashion and a voice that could make you do anything for a chance at a date with her, the only thing Katrina lacks to make her a full on Dorothy equivalent is the eyebrows.  Still, Katrina is known to stir up trouble for advancing her own career and agenda, especially against her goody goodie rivals Mike and Rachel.

#2-Mike Ross as Quatre Reberba Winner
Like Quatre, Mike is the kind of guy who wouldn’t hurt a fly and would rather see things resolved peacefully than anything else.  Then he gets a job with Harvey and it’s the equivalent of putting him into and teaching him to pilot a Gundam: it’s rough, it’s intense and gonna get bloody in a manner of speaking.  Mike wrestles with his potential as a lawyer against wanting to be a better person much like Quatre forcing himself to put aside his pacifistic nature to help protect the world with his Gundam Sandrock.

#1-Harvey Specter as Zechs Merquise
Most Char Clones are the coolest, baddest, most undeniable suave characters of any Gundam series.  At one point I thought of making Harvey Treize Kushrenada but Harvey would rather be sporting the mask and piloting the Tallgeese, flying by the seat of his pants and cashing checks his ego can only partly cash.  Like other Char Clones, Harvey is also his own worst enemy with his ego and ambitions landing him in situations even his impressive law skills cant handle alone.  Still, Zechs is one of the coolest characters in all of Gundam and Harvey is hands down the coolest character in Suits (side note: even though there’s some flirting, there’s no romantic interest between Harvey and Jessica so it would make it weird for them to be Treize and Une).
