T5W#291-Top 5 Hottest Sailor Senshi

Over the weekend, one of Anime’s most popular and long lasting Magical Girls turned 29 years old.  I’m talking about the girl fighting evil by moonlight and winning love by daylight, the one called Sailor Moon.  Across a TV Series lasting 5 seasons, 3 theatrical films, and a reboot series that’s still ongoing, this fighter for love and justice and her friends have proven theyre more than capable of taking on the forces of evil as much as any ninja or hot blooded Super Saiyan.  And yes, it must be said, Sailor Moon and her fellow Sailor Senshi look absolutely gorgeous while kicking ass.  So on today’s Top 5 Wednesday, I’m celebrating the spectacular Guardians of the Solar System by counting down the Top 5 Hottest Sailor Senshi.  I expect this might get some debate cause I know everyone has their favorites.  But anyway, on with the Top 5.

#5-Sailor Moon

Kicking off this list is the future Neo Queen Serenity herself.  Usagi Chan is a bit of a goofball and all around slacker.  However, once she becomes Sailor Moon, her confidence increases substantially and she’s proven time and time again that its wrong to underestimate her.  Plus there’s that iconic Sailor Moon costume that has inspired so many look alikes and clones throughout all of Anime.  If you can ignore her somewhat irritable whininess Usagi herself is pretty cute in and out of her superheroine persona as well.  I mean she is an Anime icon for a good reason who went on to inspire the likes of Revolutionary Girl Utena, Card Captor Sakura and Madoka Magica.

 

#4-Sailor Jupiter

Super tall, super strong, super gorgeous.  Makoto might feel self conscious about her height and strength in the beginning but they only compliment her fierce loyalty towards the friends, who accept this gentle loving giant as their protector.  Not to mention, being as tall as she is, Makoto has legs for days and they are perfectly on display when she’s in her Sailor Jupiter form.  Her beautiful dances of lightning and thunder crushing are always bad ass and lovely to witness in any battle.  Plus did I mention Makoto is an always ready brawler?  If you had the chance to date her she’d have no problem making you the damsel to be saved if you were mugged.

 

#3-Sailor Pluto

As the Guardian of Time, Sailor Pluto has a very…ethereal and eternal feel to her.  In a way, next to Sailor Saturn, Pluto might be the most Goddess like of the Senshi with the amount of power and wisdom she possesses.  Setsuna’s is an exotic beauty exuding maturity and bad ass in a very sexy package, capable of divulging proper wisdom to the other Senshi and dishing out some of the strongest attacks in the franchise.  Also I think Setsuna might be on track to be a teacher once she finishes her College Physics studies…which would make her class the most attended ever.

 

#2-Sailor Neptune

When it comes to pure elegance, no one meets the high standard like Michiru aka Sailor Neptune.  Whether it’s partaking in one of her many extracurricular activities like swimming or the violin, or being a calm and comforting love to her girlfriend, Haruka aka Sailor Uranus, Michru does it with grace and an overwhelming sense of confidence.  Her debut in the series alongside Uranus is the stuff of legends and she was the first Sailor Senshi to challenge my adoration for my top Sailor Moon crush…who we might be talking about more in a second.  Still, Michuru, easily one of the best Senshi out there and definitely one of the best girlfriends in Anime period.

 

#1-Sailor Mars

My first Anime crush, often challenged, occasionally rivaled but never dethroned.  Rei is a force of nature in Sailor Moon, commander of presence on the battlefield as well as the flames she wields.  She can come off as a bit cold hearted, particularly when it comes to boys and Usagi.  But she does soften and even with those minor flaws I cant help but love the Goddess of Mars.  Whenever Rei is onscreen, either as a beautiful Shinto Priestess or as her flame powered Senshi persona, she has my attention and I wouldn’t be surprised if she had the attention of others as well.  29 years of Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars is still my favorite character and the Hottest of the Sailor Senshi…no pun intended.
